Emergency Backup Systems

Certified Medical Testing’s Emergency Backup Service Program is designed to assure facilities management or preparedness to maintain gas distribution to all station outlets during an unforeseen emergency. The program involves strategic placement of ‘User Friendly’ equipment and proper training of personnel. The program includes as follows:

  • Survey of Entire Piping Systems of all medical gases to establish the location of zone valves, pressure switch locations and typical high usage areas for each gas.
  • Design a Step by Step Procedural Flow Chart to be used by the facility in the event a loss of line pressure occurs in any one area or the entire system. Notification of a problem is gained by annunciation of the alarm panel. This would trigger the…
  • Process for Securing the Piping System following the procedures outlined on the flow chart. Then the…
  • Strategic Placement of Emergency Backup Units Comprised of an ‘H’ Cylinder, a regulator with hose & appropriate adapter. Each unit is labeled to indicate location, area of destined use, as well as identification of corresponding valve that would be used (to isolate the portion of the piping system covered by the specific emergency backup unit) plus…
  • In-Service Training Sessions would be provided to educate the nursing, respiratory therapy, and engineering staff members on the utilization of the system.
