ASSE 6000 Series Medical Gas Maintenance Training

Certified Medical Testing provides ASSE 6000 Series training for medical gas professionals.

All training and performance evaluation must adhere to the standards published by the American Society of Sanitary Engineers (ASSE). www.asse-plumbing.org

Certified Medical Testing’s Medical Gas Maintenance Training Center located in Fresno, California will administer the A.N.S.I. accredited ASSE 6000 Series Medical Gas Maintenance credential program. This program is operated under the direction of National Inspection Testing and Certification, www.nationalitc.com an independent third-party testing and certification agency.

Class Descriptions

ASSE 6020 – Medical Gas Inspector:

An N.I.T.C./ASSE 6020 credential for the medical gas inspector will be earned by the successful completion of this 24 hour course which includes the mandatory written and practical examinations. (2 years of practical inspection experience is a prerequisite.)

ASSE 6030 – Medical Gas Verifier:

An N.I.T.C./ASSE 6030 credential for the medical gas verifier will be earned by the successful completion of this 32 hour course which concludes with an evaluation of the applicant’s written practical examination. (2 years of practical field experience in the verification of piped medical gas systems’ construction is a prerequisite.)

ASSE 6040 – Medical Gas Maintenance:

An N.I.T.C./ASSE 6040 credential for the medical gas systems maintenance personnel will be earned by the successful completion of this 32 hour course which concludes with a written examination. (1 year of practical experience involving medical gas systems maintenance is the prerequisite.)

ASSE 6050 – Medical Gas Instructor:

An N.I.T.C./ASSE 6050 credential for the medical gas instructor will be earned by the successful completion of this 40 hour training course including a written and a practical examination covering all facets of ASSE standard 6010, 6020, 6030, 6040, NFPA 99, NFPA 50 and NFPA 55, and CGA M-1. (Prerequisite includes – 10 years of documented experience in the installation of piping systems or a minimum of 2 years of documented experience in the installation of medical gas and vacuum systems. Applicant must have a minimum of 2 years documented practical teaching experience. Instructors shall possess a current Medical Gas systems Installer certification in compliance with ASSE standard 6010.)
